Welcome to our monthly newsletter! I hope that this will both inform and entertain you. There are some big changes coming for the charity, so I hope you enjoy this read!

The Ball of The Decade!

On the 18th of November, the charity's 12th annual ball will take place in Guildford Harbour Hotel, and I am extremely pleased to inform you that this event is SOLD OUT! This years ball is set to be the best yet, with brilliant prizes and fun games planned throughout the night. Thank you to everyone who has purchased their ticket, it means to world to us that so many of you lovely people are coming along to celebrate the charity and Matthew with us! We can't wait to see you all there!

Our impact

Here at the Matthew Hackney Foundation we pride ourselves on making a difference to adults and children in our local community. Since the beginning of the foundation, we have made a huge impact to family, friends, and hundreds of children across Surrey and further afield. Last year alone we helped 240 children and young people, with approximately 1520 counselling sessions. We couldn’t have done any of this with all the kind donations and those who attend our charity fundraising events. Our fantastic counsellors continue to do an amazing job supporting and guiding young children around our local area, and without your help, none of this would be possible.

How you can get help and get involved!

There are many ways that you can get involved with The Matthew Hackney Foundation. From volunteering in our wonderful charity shop, to representing us as one of the Foundation's counsellor's, our door is always open and we appreciate any help and support.

We are a small local charity and we appreciate all donations that we receive. Every little helps towards building a better and brighter future for children in your local area. If you are interested in donating please read this article below (my wonderful Mum wrote this!).

Brilliant bargains and a fantastic cause

Who doesn't love a charity shop!

This year marks two years of our charity shop, Pretty and Pre-Loved. Our wonderful team work tirelessly to keep the shop running and we are extremely grateful for all their hard work!

We also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated, we are grateful for all the amazing items that we currently have in the shop. Donating is a brilliant way to support such an amazing cause and all the money that we raise goes directly into providing counselling for children in your local area.

With everything affordably priced, shopping in charity shops is a brilliant way to buy branded clothes at a fraction of the price!

We have some brilliant news! During the month of November there will 10% of everything in store at Pretty & Pre-Loved. So please, pop in if you can and grab some bargains! In order to get these savings you will need to show our special code from our tiktok account!

Where it all started and why we matter so much

Over the years, The Matthew Hackney Foundation has blossomed into a wonderful charity and I am extremely proud of everything that my parents have accomplished. I have witnessed first hand the incredible work that our counsellors do, and I cannot recommend our service enough. In the economic climate that we find ourselves in, partially funded and funded counselling is breaking the barrier for children and young adults to access the support that they need.

What makes the Foundation so special is that it commemorates Matthew and the kind of person he was. He always did everything for his friends and family. He looked after everyone and made sure they were okay. Even when I was being an annoying little sister he still looked after me. I believe that Matthew's personality and actions shines through the Foundation and our cause.

We strive to help as many children and young people in Surrey as we can, providing adequate support for their mental well-being and giving them a safe space to talk to a trustworthy adult. The tools and support that we give them ultimately help them with their struggles and allow them to grow. Of course, counselling doesn't magically fix everyone's problems, but it does help them along their journey.

I hope you enjoyed my first newsletter! Keep your eyes pealed for more blogs and newsletters coming soon!
