The Matthew Hackney Foundation, is an established local charity based in Byfleet that has been supporting the mental health of children and young people and their families for 8 years. Mental health and wellbeing is a prevalent global focus and the majority of the UK’s population have experienced mental health concerns themselves or have known someone who has experienced such concerns.
Our charity supports children young people and their families by providing a counselling service that works with young people to understand what is troubling them and help them to find strategies to cope with their lives. We have 14 Therapists working on rotation in 35 local primary and secondary publicly funded schools. Our services are in need and we constantly find ourselves with more referrals and struggle to balance the need of children and young people with our current resources.
Our team works tirelessly to make a difference and, as well as working in schools, we offer private therapy sessions for children and parents in our therapy rooms and are planning a series of parent workshops which aim to provide parents with tools to help them communicate and help their children at home. So, why are we reaching out to you? Whilst we are hugely passionate, we are a small local charity reliant on donations. We would love to continue to expand our work by increasing the schools we work in and the number of children that we can support.
To do this we need to secure more funding and therefore are writing to ask your company if you would consider donating to the Matthew Hackney Foundation. Any donation your company could make would be massively appreciated, below we have listed some sponsorship options in the table below.
What’s in it for you?
We will mention your generosity in our socials and on our website which will give your company exposure to our network and keep you updated with the vital impact of your donation.
For example; If you can fund a Therapist for a year, in return, we will let you know who your sponsored Therapist is and provide you with termly updates on how many people your Therapist is supporting. If sponsoring a therapy room is something you can do, then we will place a sign on the door of the therapy room with your company details stating this room is here thanks to you.
You can let the HMRC know too, as any sponsorships or charitable donations are tax deductible which can reduce your taxable income.
We would really appreciate it if you could take some time to consider how you may be able to support us and in turn support those in your community. With your help we can continue to be here to offer a lifeline to children and young people within our community, the support we offer has benefited over 2000 sons, daughters, nieces, nephews and neighbours already and we want to be able to do more.
